Getting to land astronauts to land on the Moon safely in a spacecraft was one of many objectives of the Apollo Moon Missions back in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Another involved training the astronauts about the geology of the Moon and determine which rocks to bring back to Earth for future study was another. Join us on Friday, July 18, to learn what training was needed for the Apollo astronauts in geology. And talk to members of AAI who are always willing to share their knowledge of astronomy.

And learn about Amateur Astronomers, Inc. the Astronomy club that makes its home at Sperry Observatory located on the campus of Union College in Cranford, NJ and how you can join. And, weather permitting, we will do observing through our 2 large telescopes, a 24 inch reflector and a 10 inch refractor.
