Fun Facts on the Summer Solstice – How much do you really know about the summer solstice? Is June 20 really the longest day of the year? Where can you see areas on Earth that mark the solstice cycles? What is the midnight sun at the arctic circle? And where can you find summer solstice celebrations in the northern hemisphere? Find out about these and other interesting fun facts about the summer solstice at Sperry Observatory this Friday at 8:30 pm. And talk to members of AAI who are always willing to share their knowledge of astronomy.

And learn about Amateur Astronomers, Inc. the Astronomy club that makes its home at Sperry Observatory located on the campus of Union College in Cranford, NJ and how you can join. And, weather permitting, we will do observing through our 2 large telescopes, a 24 inch reflector and a 10 inch refractor.

Amateur Astronomers, Inc. (also known as AAI), celebrated 75 years as an astronomy club in November, 2024!

AAI is celebrating 75 years as an astronomy club! Sperry Observatory is open to the public on Fridays from 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm for observing (weather permitting). A presentation is given at 8:30 pm on an astronomy related topic. Register through the red banner that appears on the home page. NOTE - the  Observatory will not be open July 4h.
