April 26 – The Extremely Large Telescope

Join us on April 26 at 8:30 pm for a presentation on the Extremely Large Telescope being built in Chile. The talk will cover the construction of the dome, the 5-mirror anastigmat optical design of the telescope, the imagers and spectrographs that will be attached to the telescope, and the multiple science goals of the project.

The September 18 monthly meeting is in the Roy Smith Theatre at 8:00 pm and is open to the public. Observing occurs after the meeting at 10:00 pm. Regular observing will resume on September 25  from 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm. See below for the weekly presentations, times and locations.
