Illuminating Dark Energy Using Galaxy Observations – September 20 is our monthly meeting. Our guest speaker is Dr. Heather Prince. She is a postdoctoral researcher at Rutgers University. Dr. Prince will present the standard model of the universe and two new telescopes that aim to shed light on the nature of dark energy. The presentation begins at 8:00 pm followed by members of AAI giving updates about AAI. Then join us at 10:00 pm back at Sperry Observatory for refreshments and weather permitting observing through our 2 large telescopes.

And, weather permitting, we will do observing through our 2 large telescopes, a 24 inch reflector and a 10 inch refractor.

AAI is celebrating 75 years as an astronomy club! Sperry Observatory is open to the public on Fridays from 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm for observing (weather permitting). A presentation is given at 8:30 pm on an astronomy related topic. Register at the entrance to the Observatory.
