South Pole Astronomy – The South Pole is one of the most inhospitable environments on Earth. The location presents unique challenges to living and doing scientific research. But the great rewards are the one-of-a-kind scientific opportunities and beautiful auroras. Join us in the Roy Smith Theater this Friday at 8:00 pm to learn about this exciting and incredible location and the research being done there by our guest speaker Dr. Robert Schwarz from the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station. Then meet after at 10:00 pm in Sperry Observatory for observing and refreshments.l

And learn about Amateur Astronomers, Inc. the Astronomy club that makes its home at Sperry Observatory located on the campus of Union College in Cranford, NJ and how you can join. And, weather permitting, we will do observing through our 2 large telescopes, a 24 inch reflector and a 10 inch refractor.
