March 15 – AAI’s Monthly Meeting with Guest Speaker, Mr Brian Brennan

AAI’s monthly meeting is on Friday, March 15 beginning at 8:00 pm in the Roy Smith Theatre on the campus of Union College in Cranford, NJ. This meeting is open to the public and no pre-registration is needed.

Mr. Brennan is a deep space astrophotographer. His picture of the galaxy M94 was featured as a NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD). Brian will explain the equipment, techniques and software he uses to plan, collect and process his deep space images. Join us as we learn how this fascinating process works and the incredible results Brian gets from doing this amazing skill.

And join us after the meeting around 10:00 pm back at Sperry Observatory for refreshments and, weather permitting, observing through the 2 large telescopes located in the Observatory. This is an opportunity to meet and talk with fellow members of AAI and learn what we do and how you can join.

And a reminder to SAVE THE DATE, SATURDAY, MAY 4TH, for ASTRONOMY DAY! Our theme is “The Science of Star Wars”. This will be held at Trailside Nature & Science Center in the afternoon and will continue at Sperry Observatory in the evening. Details of the event will be forthcoming.

The September 19 monthly meeting begins at 8:00pm in the Roy Smith Theatre with a guest speaker. Observing occurs after the meeting around 10:00 pm in Sperry Observatory, weather permitting. See below for more information. Register through the red banner that appears on the home page.
