The Legacy Survey of Space and Time is about the newly-completed Simonyi Telescope at the Vera C. Rubin Observatory in Chile and the how the huge amount of data will be managed. This presentation will cover the role of sky surveys in astronomy, Vera C. Rubin and the existence of dark matter, the Simonyi Telescope at the Vera C. Rubin Observatory in Chile, the observing plan for the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) and managing petabyes of data. And talk to members of AAI who are always willing to share their knowledge of astronomy.

And learn about Amateur Astronomers, Inc. the Astronomy club that makes its home at Sperry Observatory located on the campus of Union College in Cranford, NJ and how you can join. And, weather permitting, we will do observing through our 2 large telescopes, a 24 inch reflector and a 10 inch refractor.
