AAI’s Monthly Meeting is on February 16 in the Roy Smith Theater !

Join us at 8:00 pm on Friday, February 16th for AAI’s monthly meeting. Our guest speaker is Mr. Johnathan Ward who is a member of the Royal Astronomical Society. He co-wrote the book “Through the Glass Ceiling to the Stars: The Story of the First American Woman to Command a Space Mission” His presentation begins around 8:45 pm. The meeting is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is not required.

The first Female Space Shuttle commender, Eileen Collins, had an impressive career. Not only did she deploy the Chandra X-Ray Space Telescope, she commanded the first Space shuttle mission after the Columbia accident. And so much more.

And a reminder to SAVE THE DATE, SATURDAY MAY 4TH, for ASTRONOMY DAY! Our theme is “The Science of Star Wars”. Details of the event will be forthcoming.

Sperry Observatory is open for observing from 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm every Friday night with the exception of the 1st Friday of each month from September to May. A presentation on an astronomy related topic is given at 8:30 pm. This is free and open to the public.
