“Replicating Cosmic Ray Interactions at CERN” – Our guest speaker is Dr. Priyarshini Ghosh from NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center located in Greenbrook, Maryland. NASA’s upcoming TIGERISS detector will study cosmic rays more closely than ever. To help interpret TIGERISS data, a Magnesium-24 beam experiment at CERN has been designed to replicate the interaction of cosmic rays in outer space. Join us as we learn about the incredible research being done utilizing CERN. This meeting is open to the public and is held in the Roy Smith Theater located on the campus of Union College in the Campus Center building next to the Student Commons.

And learn about Amateur Astronomers, Inc. the Astronomy club that makes its home at Sperry Observatory located on the campus of Union College in Cranford, NJ and how you can join. And, weather permitting, we will do observing through our 2 large telescopes, a 24 inch reflector and a 10 inch refractor.
