“Update: The Exploration of the Red Planet: Mars” – This month the planet Mars will be at opposition – that is it will be directly opposite to the Sun in the night sky. And it will appear highest in the night sky at around midnight. So much exploration has been done on this planet. Mars has volcanoes, dry river beds, dust devils and intriguing Ice! Join us on Friday, January 10, at 8:30 pm at Sperry Observatory to learn what has been discovered so far and what may lie ahead in future explorations!

And learn about Amateur Astronomers, Inc. the Astronomy club that makes its home at Sperry Observatory located on the campus of Union College in Cranford, NJ and how you can join. And, weather permitting, we will do observing through our 2 large telescopes, a 24 inch reflector and a 10 inch refractor.

Amateur Astronomers, Inc. (also known as AAI), celebrated 75 years as an astronomy club in November, 2024!

See below for Friday's presentation with a guest speaker and observing information. NOTE: Observatory doors open on November 21 at 10:00 pm after the monthly meeting.
