These three telescopes are in various stages of design and construction in the world: The European Southern Observatory’s 39.3-meter Extremely Large Telescope (ELT), the 25.4-meter Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT, and the Thirty-Meter Telescope (TMT). The presentation will describe their designs and compare their properties along with the design and science of the ELT. Join us to hear about these telescopes and what their future may hold. And talk to members of AAI who are always willing to share their knowledge of astronomy.
