The planet Neptune is a long way out in our solar system. What do we know about it? Have you ever been able to observe through a telescope? Join us on Friday to learn how it was discovered, the controversy of credit and international politics, and the findings from the Voyager 2 flyby, as well as a hint of proposed missions to the 8th planet (of nine). And talk to members of AAI who are always willing to share their knowledge of astronomy.

And learn about Amateur Astronomers, Inc. the Astronomy club that makes its home at Sperry Observatory located on the campus of Union College in Cranford, NJ and how you can join. And, weather permitting, we will do observing through our 2 large telescopes, a 24 inch reflector and a 10 inch refractor.

Amateur Astronomers, Inc. (also known as AAI), is 76 years young and still going strong!

Friday, October 16, the meeting begins at 8:00 pm in the Roy Smith Theatre followed by a guest speaker.  Sperry Observatory will open after 10:00 pm for observing.  See below for details.
