The invention of the Spectrograph allowed scientists to ‘see’ the composition of light.  This allowed astronomers to figure out what elements are in starlight and read their chemical compounds. Imagine examining stars that are millions of light years away!  Join us on Friday to learn about the people who pioneered the investigation and how we use the same techniques today.  And talk to members of AAI who are always willing to share their knowledge of Astronomy.

And learn about Amateur Astronomers, Inc. the Astronomy club that makes its home at Sperry Observatory located on the campus of Union College in Cranford, NJ and how you can join. And, weather permitting, we will do observing through our 2 large telescopes, a 24 inch reflector and a 10 inch refractor.

Amateur Astronomers, Inc. (also known as AAI), is 77 years young and still going strong!

Sperry Observatory is open to the public from 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm every Friday. A presentation on an astronomy related topic is given at 8:30 pm. See below for details.
