“Hearts in Space – A Celestial Valentine” – What an interesting title. What will this be about? Join us for a quick history of how a two-lobed shape became a symbol of love, how heart-shaped objects are found everywhere, how human hearts beat differently in space and could solar flares be bad (or good?) for astronauts’ health. So, come to Sperry Observatory for an interesting and informative evening. Talk to members of AAI who are always willing to share their knowledge of astronomy. And learn about our upcoming Astronomy Day being held on Saturday, May 17, 2025!

And learn about Amateur Astronomers, Inc. the Astronomy club that makes its home at Sperry Observatory located on the campus of Union College in Cranford, NJ and how you can join. And, weather permitting, we will do observing through our 2 large telescopes, a 24 inch reflector and a 10 inch refractor.

Amateur Astronomers, Inc. (also known as AAI), celebrated 75 years as an astronomy club in November, 2024!

Sperry Observatory will be open to the public this Friday, April 25,  at 10:00 pm, after the monthly meeting. Join us in the Roy Smith Theater at 8:00 pm with our guest speaker followed by observing at 10:00 pm in the Observatory.  Register at the entrance to the Observatory.
